It’s hard enough to pay the regular bills every month, never mind if you or a loved one gets seriously ill. Lawmakers in North Carolina and in Washington are eager to cut spending on programs that can help you, while at the same time giving generous tax breaks to the very same insurance companies who are raising your premiums.

Action NC has worked since our inception to fight for quality, affordable health care for everyone in North Carolina, and the expansion of our Medicaid program is the linchpin in this effort. We continue to work with our allies at the General Assembly to bring this to reality, and we invite your help.

One of the most timely and important issues in health care access for North Carolinians today is the expansion of Medicaid services under the Affordable Care Act. The North Carolina General Assembly and Governor McCrory continue to refuse the expansion, even though it will actually save the state millions of dollars a year in Medicaid costs and expense overruns.
